For MTV’s first global redesign, we built a simple, flexible system that brought back iconic parts of the legacy brand while making the experience cleaner across every touchpoint.

Consumer research showed the classic tri-color logo drove the strongest brand recall, so instead of flattening it, we leaned in, refining the mark, creating MTV Gravity, and building a pattern system inspired by the original moon landing ID.

The new system also rethought the “M” as a framing device - giving content more room to shine while strengthening brand attribution.
